Firewire Recording Interfaces?
I am looking for a firewire recording interface for my laptop. I have all of the high end interfaces, adat, etc. etc. for my home studio, but I like to do field recording/live recording, so I’m adding a setup to my personal laptop. Im not looking for anything expensive, like I said, I’m using Pro Tools HD for my home studio. I have found a phonic firewire interface that looks very appealing, though I have not found a review on it. Its at $399.99. I’m looking for something around $275-$400 Something with at least 4 XLR inputs with possible ADAT I/O, SPDIF, MIDI, but not necessary. Anyone seen any good interfaces other than the Phonics and Alesis stuff???
Hmm thats a tough ask.
Only Alesis and Phonic make designs which cater to your needs. Alot of other companies with firewire audio interfaces usually only have 2 XLR’s, unless you want to make the jump to 8. (600-800 bux). Most on the road interfaces around your price range have mostly TS/TRS I/O. I’d go with an Alesis interface – I used to have one, and it worked and sounded fine.
