How do I enlarge microfiche frames using my pc & scanner? Any special software available? Thanks!?
I am using an HP Scanjet 4070 Photosmart scanner with a home-built PC. Normally, I can figure out how to do darned near anything with my system, but this process has me over a barrel.
I need to figure this out in order to print out the “out of print” parts lists for my riding mower. It’s the only way I can get parts for it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
The scanner you reference is a good scanner for slides and negatives so it should handle microfiche. The question is, do you actually have the microfiche on hand (very unusual)? If you go to the library and get the microfiche from them, you can use their microfiche viewer which will print the pages out for you. Otherwise, scan the pages needed as a negative with your scanner then take into a photo editing program, Invert the photo and enlarge to the size needed. You should scan at at least 1200 dpi to get a good readable page.
